For Those Starting a New Year with Old Weight
Wardrobe solutions to feel confident during the weight loss journey
Part I (of II)
For 98% of people, (I include myself), we either want to be smaller or, at least, maintain our current weight. Fluctuations mess with your mood, your wardrobe, and even your budget. While you may not like being on the wrong side of your ideal weight, some wardrobe solutions can make the transition easier and still have you showing up with a polished appearance at work and, frankly, anywhere.
I’ve decided to break this into two episodes because it can be overwhelming. Returning to your “ideal weight” is just that – a journey – and should be intentional and calculated.
Let’s jump into the first three and I’ll plan to share the other three solutions in another post.
As always, reach out and let me know if you have questions, want to dig deeper, or even just to say, “Good job and great information – thanks!”
These solutions are meant to get you going where you are because you should not wait for weight to feel great! Given my focus as a wardrobe stylist is building style muscle and versatile wardrobes that can go the distance, the solutions are meant to help you step away from using fast fashion to simply buy low-quality items and toss them as you go.

Invest in tailored staples with adjustable features: this translates to wrap dresses (not faux wrap dresses) where you can adjust the belt accordingly, bottoms with elastic waistbands (they are literally everywhere from jeans to casual slacks to pencil skirts); and blazers with side slits/vents because they allow for more room and don’t bunch or gather as much. A few great options include a mockneck tunic, cashmere open cardigan, silk blouse with an empire waist, these pull-on stretch denim (they snatch SO good!), and these straight-leg pants with an elasticized waistband!
